What I’m Reading…
Organize Now! by Jennifer Ford Berry.

It is a 52 week guide to simplifying your space and your life. I am going to give it a whirl. Let’s see how this works out. First week is organizing your mind…only one week dedicated to organizing the chaos in my mind. Hmmm.
Logan’s New Clock
So we are now afraid of the dark. It happened overnight and it is not good. We are going through every stop-gap measure to cut down on the current hour and a half bedtime routine. One thing he wanted was a clock, so he could tell what time it was in the morning so how long he had to wait until he can get up. He already has the Good Night Lite.

Which is great for telling him it is ok to get up, but now he wants to know how much longer he has to wait. So we found this little gem at Target. It is great because each number is a different color, so we can tell him that he can get up when the green number says 7. Even better, it was only $6.99!

To Do List
My Craft To Do List is a mile long, but I am adding this to it.

It is from the website Made by Lex and it is one of her original designs that she has for sale. I have a similar pattern, sans cowl neck that I made with Tina Sparkles from her new book, Little Green Dresses.
It reminds me of clothing from a new favorite store, AllSaints, that I visit when I go to Boston. It is crazy expensive, but beautiful draping done in knits. And their kids clothes are ridiculous cute and ridiculous expensive. I have yet to buy anything, but I stalk.
So, knit dress…on the list. Let’s see if it makes it off before summer.
Halloween Begins
We love Halloween, maybe a little too much. Example: Family Cosutmes last year.

We’ve been waiting for Logan’s birthday party to start to decorate. I made this wreath about 3 weeks ago from a tutorial at Craftaholics Anonymous. I was dying to make it and it was pretty easy, but the burlap is a little messy (note to self: don’t tie burlap in your bed watching Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion, if you do, you will sleep with burlap). So the minute the last guest left the party, this little gem went up.

This weekend we will work on transforming the house. This is only the beginning.

Moustache Birthday
So Logan is a little obsessed with moustaches. He thinks if you have a moustache, you are the coolest. While he was perfectly happy to have a Thomas party for his 4th birthday, I planted the seed that a moustache party would be way more fun. Well, that worked and so began the planning for his STACHE-TASTIC PARTY.
First off, invitations. For me, this sets the whole party, and I probably fret the most about the part. However, I was in Boston on a business trip when I realized I hadn’t sent invitations for his party that was happening in two weeks. Insert, the mighty save the date email. The mom’s lifesaver. As long as a save the date has been sent, you are golden! Lucky for me, I work with designers and Tony was able to help me whip together this awesome invitation.

And then Tony followed it up with this gem for a thank you note. My favorite part is the handwriting lines to assist Logan in signing his name.

The invitation set the stage for a little man theme with a color scheme of brown, black and tan. We used kraft paper for table cloths, stamped with moustache stamps from Skull and Cross Buns on Etsy. My favorite part was creating a dessert table. I recently tried my hand at Bakerella’s cake pops and love making them. So we had brown and white cake pops, cupcake’s with chocolate moustache toppers, and moustache shaped cookies.

And at the end of the day. there was lots of jump house bouncing, too much sugar consumed and everyone had a darn good time.
